This Sunday, Gabrielle Bell, MK Reed and I will be showing/talking about how we use NYC in our comics at Housing Works Bookstore at 1pm as part ofthe Downtown Literary Festival.
I hate dream stories, but here’s a comic about mine on The Nib.
I posted something awhile ago about how I was in need of an intern and I was “serious this time,” and I was serious and I’m totally overloaded with work, but I realized that the way I run my lil’ operation is way too particular and I’m way too much of a control freak, and I just can’t force another person to suffer through working with me. I would say “I’m sorry” to those who emailed me, but I feel like “you’re welcome” (for not utilizing your services) is more appropriate. Speaking of being a dick, here, enjoy this sketchbook comic:
Before you’re like “LOL only hipsters hate on other hipsters” please allow me to disclose that A) I’m a 30-something artist who lives in Brooklyn, so for all intents and purposes, I am hipster and that’s okay. Who cares. Plus, in case you haven’t noticed, we’ve moved on from hating hipsters to hating yuppies, which is who we were hating on back in the 90’s when we were scuzzy grunge nerds, so this whole demographic hating thing is cyclical and incredibly silly. B) My intolerance of bullshit is not selective, I get equally annoyed with everybody.
