1) Thanks so much to those who ordered books from me this week! To those who didn’t, you still can. (DISCLAIMER: THERE’S A PAUSE ON ORDERS FOR A FEW DAYS)
2) Do you like to like things on facebook? yeah me neither but if you’re so inclined, you should do it for The Infinite Wait page because I’m told that kind of stuff is good PR. And if you’re an interviewer, a blog, a podcast, etc…now is a good time to hit me up because I gotta peddle my wares while they’re hot. I can be reached at juliajwertz(at)gmail(dot)com
3) to those who pre-ordered: I was hoping to get those books out earlier but it turned out I had to wait until the official release, which was tuesday, so they’ll be going out this week or monday at the latest. I would have had them out by wednesday but holy fucking hell I had no idea how long it would take to burn CDs, sign books, make prings hand make all those magnets and keychains. They weren’t something I ordered pre-made, I actually bought all the seprate supplies and cut and glued and hooked, etc…see below for a small sample of what the rest of my studio is covered in:
Plus I’m working with RareEarth Magnets which are a very strong magnet backing so they don’t fall off the fridge like the cheap ones and if you’ve ever used those magnets, you know what happens when one gets too close to the other and suddenly your flat, aligned mass of magnets is suddenly one huge clump. There was a lot of yelling in my apartment this week. And then I ran out of supplies and oh man no one cares about this at all I’m so sorry.
What I’m trying to say is that everyone will get their books early next week! Pre-orders and deluxe packages orders will get something that looks like this, with some variation. (all the buttons are different and have a variety of old comic book characters and some of the keychains are larger)
If you’re still reading this and you live in NYC, you should come to this tomorrow night!
This is part of the Brooklyn Book Festival, for which the Brooklyn Paper profiled me , leading to the delightful photo caption “Julia Wertz remembers liking small spaces.”

Those magnets are so powerful they are warping the space around your cat.
If they’re shipped together will the magnet erase the CD?! ; )
this made me smile so much. i can’t imagine how it must feel to hear that old “i love you(r persoonalitiy) and your work!!” all the time (god behold) but: i love you and your work! i sometimes (not so) secretly wish we were friends. i believe we would be on the same page many times. oh well
can’t wait for my pre-order to arrive and thanks already in advance for all the work you put into those orders!!!! your groupie from switzerland.
will there be a NYC release party?
yeah, on November 15th at Desert Island!
I bought The Infinite Wait last week at a local comic shop. I’m reading it during poop sessions so that puts me about halfway through. I’m enjoying it very much (the book).
thanks. it’s always so nice to hear that a book you worked really hard on and are proud of is being enjoyed in small increments by someone taking a shit.
*holding money in fist*
Still a hold on orders? I’m ready to buy a delux edition. Okay I’ll just wait in line.
I bought my copy at SPX and read only bits and pieces of it during my vacation the same way that I eat cheese cake because I don’t want it to end. I finally fnished it during the car ride home back to NY and I’m officially sad that it’s over. Hurry up and make more books, Julia!
