just so everyone knows, Go Ask Alice is a hoax. wikipedia y’all.
in 6th grade it scarred me . . then I went back to it recently. Not long after trying pot she is selling acid to elementary school kids (!!!). it would be funny if it weren’t so terrible.
Yep. I say that it’s a hoax, too. If you look through wikipedia.org’s articles, [my opinion]: the author was caught doing a similar book, where she/the author, claims that a boy joined an “evil cult”, and [bad stuff] happened to him, after that.
This boy’s book, seems to…hmm…mysteriously, follow the same fake-y source, namely, “a real teenager’s diary”. The boy’s book also has a similar fake-y theme, as “Go Ask Alice”, namely a theme of: Hey kids, stay away from strange worshipers, or stay away from drugs, [like the drugs that Alice did], or you’ll come to a [tragic end], like this Alice or this boy.
Theoretically, I guess her third book would be something like: stay away from Hostess cupcakes, or you’ll come to a tragic end!
This one reminds me of a conversation I had with my dad shortly after I turned 12 (one which I had been dreading for a couple of years up to that point).
Dad: You’re 12 now so it’s time we had the birds and the bees talk.
Me: …
Dad: Keefe, just…don’t kiss guys.
Me: …
Mom: Yeah, because they can be real tricky at times!
Me: …

What? Go Ask Alice isn’t a true story? My entire world view has crumbled.
I’m going to go drop some acid RIGHT NOW!

Ah, yet another use for the Internet. What is a traumatic event for one person makes another’s day. You’re welcome, Julia, you’re welcome.
