There was a Nat’l Lampoon in the ’80s that did a fake New Yorker issue where the cartoons were in the exact New Yorker cartoon style but depicted things that actually happen in New York (in the ’80s). The two I remember are: two comical-stereotypical hobos are sitting on the sidewalk, one slumped over, and the other saying “Please, I think my friend is dead! Why won’t anybody help me?” And a black couple in a fancy restaurant where the waiter comes up to them and says “We’re all out of food. Scram.”
