There was a Nat’l Lampoon in the ’80s that did a fake New Yorker issue where the cartoons were in the exact New Yorker cartoon style but depicted things that actually happen in New York (in the ’80s). The two I remember are: two comical-stereotypical hobos are sitting on the sidewalk, one slumped over, and the other saying “Please, I think my friend is dead! Why won’t anybody help me?” And a black couple in a fancy restaurant where the waiter comes up to them and says “We’re all out of food. Scram.”
haha nice ones I really like the bums being so detailed.
totatlly off topic, but related to NY: check out this blog post I found containing old Manhattan pics from the 40s. Ain’t them cool? http://nejlon.blog.hu/2012/01/04/manhattan
(sorry for the Klingon language, that is actually Hungarian….and sorry for the off again. didn’t mean to be trollin’)
