Thanks to everyone who came out to see Pizza Island read on Saturday! Sorry about our technical blunders, that was our first collective reading and naturally we all waited until the last minute to put it together. We’ll all be tabling at MoCCA next month so if you liked what you saw/heard, come check out our printed material and drawerins.

It’s good to see the revision; I saw the earlier version, and thought it a bit too presumptuous to be a Spelling Nazi–so, nice self-editing! I also am a fan of how, in the mirror scenes, the ‘drinking Julia’ differs from the ‘responsible Julia’ by the addition of a few frizzes and a number sign on the shirt. :)

I just woke up from a dream. In the dream you, Julia Wertz, were some sort of studio aid to Oprah. One of your first assignments was helping her load furniture from a moving truck to her studio (apparently this was the kind of thing that you were going to have to do on a daily basis) and somehow you screwed it up. Oprah got angry and I think she fired you. The dream was in a pseudo-comic form but looked like it had been colored in some faux watercolor/marker photoshop program.

I don’t know, I think I’d take “adorable curmudgeon” over “dwarfish ingénue.” But either is preferable to being fired by Oprah.

Oh, you artists are too hard on yourselves. I’m thinking a brunette Blythe Danner, and she wasn’t too shabby.
