my girlfriends have been up to some fabulous things this fall! haha just kidding I dont talk like that! oh, but I shall right now. Let’s see, studio mate Domitille Collardey just posted some sketches of what fall has been like at Pizza Island (our studio) on our collective blog that we never update. Did I mention that the lovely and talented Kate Beaton has joined our motley crew? Her comic, Hark! A Vagrant! is one of my favs. Neighbor/sexy cartoonist Lisa Hanawalt just did the window display at Desert Island, our local comic book shop, and it’s amazingly horrifying. Sarah Glidden is still tromping across the middle east and doing travel comics about it, see them on her travel blog. Chicago pal Laura Park just had back surgery and is eeking out comics about it that are better than any drivel I’ll ever do. Old SF buddy Marinaomi sent me a galley copy of her new book Kiss & Tell and it’s amazing. I read it all in one sitting and had feelings and stuff. It’s available for pre-order now on Amazon, from HarperCollins.
Lastly! If you are in New York over Thanksgiving weekend, you should come to KGB bar on Sunday, Nov 28th at 7pm where two of the aforementioned ladies will be reading (Lisa and Kate) along with Mike Dawson, cartoonist and half of Ink Panthers which is one of my favorite podcasts.
Bloof! if you made it this far, I’m still compiling my list of graphic novels/comics that take place in NYC and SF. If you got any, please see the original page and leave it in the comments section.

Someone who stands up for their friends (or witnesses from my old college fellowship days) is all right in my book.
Feel no shame in shilling your homies.
